Many neurodiverse individuals and their families struggle with understanding their identity and learning needs, often feeling lost or misunderstood. At Glow State Psychology, we provide thorough, professional assessments that clarify neurodiversity and learning differences. With our support, clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves, leading to greater confidence and self-acceptance.

When I was growing up school didn’t seem to fit me, or I didn't seem to fit it.  In my house it was called ‘The Feeling’. I liked to learn, but I didn’t like to learn at school. I grew up and went to university. I studied a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Psychology) from Deakin University. In addition to psychology, I also majored in literature. A highlight of my university days was taking part in a study tour to Scandinavia to study fairytales and crime fiction. I then worked in child health research before returning to university to achieve a Masters of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) from Monash University.  My student jobs revolved around children and included at one point, working as a children's entertainer making balloon animals and face painting. I enjoyed being around kids because they were creative, genuine and honest in who they were. These values of authenticity, honesty, and fairness are the guiding principles to Glow State Psychology and are shared with our clients.

I launched my psychology career working in schools. I never planned to work in the education industry. In fact, I was adamant I wouldn't become a teacher. But my purpose was evident, I didn't want other kids to feel 'The Feeling' too. I have since worked both in the public and private education settings and am familiar with the strengths and challenges individuals face in school settings. I also have an understanding of the priorities and complexities that educators and school leadership balance when tasked with educating diverse neurotypes.

Today, I specialise in assessments for children and teens facing learning differences. As well as assessments for neurodiverse women from older teens (16+) through  to midlife. I have additional training for working with women in the perinatal period having completed the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Intensive with the Perinatal Training Centre.  I became passionate about the wellbeing of mums, dads, caregivers, and their little ones through the experience of my own matrescence. I offer a secure base for adult women to wonder about who they are and how they want to be in the world, through the process of later in life discovery and assessment of neurotype. At Glow State Psychology each assessment is designed to meet the individual needs of the client and to be a valuable and affirming process.  Book an initial consultation with Glow State Psychology.
